the client is seeking a Finance Director to support the strategic leadership and performance of the UK operation. The role covers the full UK business, including multiple legal trading entities supporting sales, marketing, distribution, and a growing home care presence. The position reports to the UK managing director and is part of the UK Executive Committee, with a remit that spans finance and central service functions.
The Finance Director will provide strategic vision for central service functions including finance, indirect procurement and facilities management, and IT, with direct management responsibility for approximately 35 people. Core duties include full responsibility for local finance, accounting, controlling, tax, and the interface with global business services. The role also focuses on financial performance management to achieve targets for revenue and profit growth, establishing and maintaining budgets, and providing regular reporting on actual and forecasted revenues and profit and loss.
As a member of the senior management team, the Finance Director will advise top management and lead local strategic projects. The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with senior finance leadership experience in an organization of scale, and has experience within an internationally trading or matrix management environment. Prior experience in a product-based industry is expected to be a strong advantage, demonstrating both strong financial stewardship and added value beyond core finance responsibilities, along with leadership and collaboration aligned to innovation and change, customer focus, and delivering performance and results.
