Description

The client is a growing, private equity-backed consumer business and is seeking a Finance Director to join the senior leadership team as the business accelerates toward an exit. This is a key role supporting the Managing Director on commercial decision-making and strategic planning, with a strong focus on aligning finance priorities to value creation. The position will help drive the company through a significant growth phase that includes product launches, international expansion, and development of an R&D pipeline.

The Finance Director will lead operational efficiency efforts across the supply chain, fulfilment, and overhead base, while also owning financial modelling for new product initiatives. Responsibilities include overseeing pricing strategy and margin management across all channels, leading annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, and managing cash flow and working capital, including banking relationships. The role will also support the investor with financial reporting and KPI tracking, and lead the establishment of new overseas legal entities.

The successful candidate will bring an operational, no.2 mindset and experience building and refining small, high-calibre finance functions in SME or scale-up environments. Experience in a PE-backed context is expected, including comfort with investor reporting cadence and ownership of value creation plans. The candidate should be ACA qualified (with Big Four or mid-tier training preferred), have consumer brand experience and understanding of the customer purchase journey, and demonstrate awareness of multi-entity and multi-currency considerations. Experience managing and developing finance teams and excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels are required, with the role also expected to support any future M&A, due diligence, or exit preparation.
