the client is seeking an exceptional Finance Director to join the senior leadership team and partner closely with the Managing Director. This role will support driving profitable growth, operational efficiency, and disciplined capital allocation, while serving as the primary interface with group finance and providing finance leadership at the finance senior leadership level. The finance director will lead a team of experienced finance professionals and help enhance the work of commercial and operational colleagues through clear, decision-ready financial support.
Key responsibilities include acting as a trusted finance business partner to senior leaders, delivering actionable financial insight to support pricing, margin management, capacity utilisation, and investment decisions. The role will maintain disciplined control of key financial levers and operational/customer KPIs, and lead budgeting, forecasting, and medium-term planning in line with group requirements. It will also provide an ongoing run-rate EBITDA view to support ongoing decision-making, ensure timely and accurate monthly management accounts, oversee working capital management across inventory, debtors, and payables, and drive robust cost control across manufacturing, supply chain, and overheads.
The finance director will oversee standard costing methodologies, variance analysis, and bill-of-materials integrity, and partner with operations to improve yield, efficiency, labour productivity, and waste reduction. The role includes maintaining capital discipline and providing financial insight on capex proposals, production investments, and make-or-buy decisions, as well as managing cash flow forecasting at subsidiary level. It will also focus on continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and reporting, foster commercial awareness and accountability, and ensure compliance with relevant legal and group requirements related to financial matters; successful candidates must be qualified accountants (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with senior finance leadership experience, ideally with FMCG or similar fast-paced manufacturing, high-volume, lower-margin industry exposure.
