the client is seeking a Finance Director to lead finance for the Americas and oversee finance, human resources, and purchasing. The role partners closely with management while remaining significantly hands-on, including ownership of monthly and quarterly closings. Although much of the accounting is supported by a shared services center outside the US, the Finance Director will still be expected to stay actively involved in end-to-end close activities and related reporting.
Key responsibilities include supervising the accounting department and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, monitoring and improving accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, and driving continuous improvement across departmental procedures. The Finance Director will lead monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings and reporting, prepare budgets and forecasts and track performance against them, oversee the preparation of tax returns, and coordinate the yearly legal auditing process.
The position also includes managing employee relations and conducting year-end reviews with team members across finance, HR, and operations, coordinating human resources activities within the finance function, and maintaining responsibility for banking relationships. Ideal qualifications include a degree in accounting and strong finance leadership experience at a senior manager or director level, with demonstrated expertise in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, experience in manufacturing, and experience in large multinational environments with exposure to Latin America. Proficiency with MS Office is expected, and experience with SAP is preferred, alongside strong communication skills; prior titles such as Controller, Finance Director, VP of Finance, CFO, or Chief Financial Officer align with the type of experience sought.
