Description

The client is seeking a hands-on Finance Director to lead finance capability during a pivotal period of transformation and growth within a fast-moving, project-based, international creative services environment. This role is designed for an experienced finance leader who prefers operating close to the business, improving processes, building structure, and driving operational excellence by partnering with senior stakeholders while resolving day-to-day challenges in detail. The position sits at the heart of business performance and is expected to blend financial control with commercially minded, operational execution.

Key responsibilities include leading the day-to-day finance function across a multi-entity international business, overseeing monthly management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, and driving improvements in financial controls, governance, and reporting accuracy. The Finance Director will partner with operational and commercial teams to support business performance, monitor project profitability, resource utilisation, and cost management, and improve the quality of management information available to senior leadership. The role also involves supporting ongoing finance transformation initiatives, strengthening scalable finance processes for future growth, and managing cash flow and working capital performance while acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders.

Candidates are expected to have experience in fast-paced, project-driven environments and an understanding of how operational businesses function. A strong background in financial control and reporting, along with a practical, delivery-focused approach, is important, as is the ability to balance commercial insight with operational execution and manage complex stakeholder groups. Experience in project-based industries such as creative, production, agency, consulting, or professional services is likely to be beneficial, as are strong systems and process improvement capabilities; a professional accounting qualification (for example, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) may be preferred but is not required.
