The client is seeking a Finance Director for its Romanian branch in Bucharest. The role reports to the General Manager and, in a dotted-line capacity, to the Group CFO, with overall responsibility for administration, finance, controlling, and tax and legal activities for the Romanian operation. The Finance Director will coordinate a team of five and will also oversee HR and compensation topics.
Key responsibilities include independently managing accounting tasks such as posting incoming and outgoing invoices; overseeing settlements and reconciliation with business partners; and handling compensation, assignments, and other accounting payments. The role supports cash and travel order processing, records business trips and employee expense reports, and continuously monitors legal and regulatory changes affecting accounting, bookkeeping, and taxes. The Finance Director will proactively ensure compliance, take on additional administrative and financial tasks as needed, collaborate with banks and tax authorities, and prepare and analyze statistical and financial reports, including monthly and annual financial statements in line with local regulations and corporate group guidelines.
The position also covers participation in annual financial and budget planning in collaboration with the General Manager and relevant stakeholders, along with management of accounts receivable and ownership of a dunning process. Requirements include a completed commercial training or equivalent qualification in accounting/finance, strong knowledge of tax law and accounting principles, confident use of accounting software and MS Office, and an independent, structured, and reliable working style. Candidates should bring strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and English proficiency (with Italian as an advantage), and have at least five years of professional experience as a Finance Manager/Finance Director in a multinational group.
