Description

The client is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Finance and Operations Director to lead financial, human resources, operational, and administrative functions that support its mission. Working with children, families, caregivers, and community partners, the Director will help ensure the organization has the financial strength, systems, people, and infrastructure needed to sustain impact and support future growth.

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a key member of the Leadership Team, the Finance and Operations Director will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on oversight across finance and accounting, human resources, facilities and operations, technology, risk management, compliance, and organizational systems. The role supervises a three-person Finance and Operations team and partners closely with the Executive Director, Leadership Team, and Board to align resources and operations with organizational priorities.

Key responsibilities include providing strategic and day-to-day financial leadership; overseeing budgeting, accounting, forecasting, cash flow, financial reporting, audits, tax reporting, grant financial management, and compliance; ensuring accounting records and financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP; maintaining appropriate internal controls and segregation of duties; leading operating and program/grant budget development; supporting federal grant compliance through financial systems, policies, documentation, cost allocation practices, and grant-management processes; managing indirect and administrative expenses; monitoring performance against budget and providing recommendations; developing forecasts and scenario models; overseeing cash balances and cash-flow planning; strengthening financial policies, procedures, and reporting systems; coordinating annual audits and required tax forms; and overseeing reconciliations and transaction processes while maintaining effective banking relationships.
