The client is seeking an Executive Vice President, Advocacy and Policy (EVP) to spearhead their efforts in reducing cancer risks, promoting prevention and early detection, and enhancing the quality of life for those affected by cancer.
This newly established role is an essential part of the client's upcoming strategic plan set to launch in 2026. The EVP will lead a team of approximately 30 advocacy and policy professionals across Canada, leveraging their in-depth knowledge of cancer issues and health equity to drive transformational policy changes.
The candidate will be expected to ensure that all policies are evidence-based and that advocacy strategies are both engaging and effective, aligning with the clients mission goals.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and an inspiring leader, capable of representing the client in various governmental and public forums. They should possess excellent communication skills, ideally in both English and French, and be adept at building influential relationships.
The EVP will stay updated on the latest scientific and policy developments and legislative changes, ensuring the client remains at the forefront of effective advocacy. Internally, fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture will be crucial, as the EVP works collaboratively with teams in communications, fundraising, research, and support services to maximize impact.
