The client seeks an Executive Vice President of Academics (EVPA), serving as the university’s chief academic officer and academic executive leader. In partnership with the client’s president and leadership team, the EVPA will help advance the institution’s mission focused on experiential learning and the preparation of students to solve complex, real-world challenges.
The EVPA is expected to provide strategic academic leadership across all academic functions in alignment with the client’s strategic plan. Responsibilities include oversight of academic chairs and core academic operations such as assessment, academic policies and procedures, applied research and grants, relevant academic centers and institutes, career and professional education support, the library, the registrar, accreditation, and student success initiatives, with an emphasis on data-driven decision-making.
The EVPA will lead a student-centered academic culture that supports success, retention, and well-being from matriculation through graduation, while overseeing faculty affairs including recruitment, retention, evaluation, and promotion. Additional responsibilities include promoting belonging across the academic enterprise; guiding the thoughtful integration of applied artificial intelligence concepts and ethical considerations into curricula across all programs; advancing project-based and experiential learning models such as undergraduate research; ensuring curriculum quality and program consistency across undergraduate and graduate offerings; strengthening industry and community partnerships; and exercising strong fiscal and resource management to support long-term sustainability and transparent allocation of academic resources.
