Description

the client invites nominations and applications for the role of Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (EVCAA). This senior academic leader will exercise broad responsibility across the campus’s academic and student dimensions in coordination with the chancellor and other campus leadership. The EVCAA is expected to guide the next stage of excellence by strengthening academic quality, supporting student-centered achievement, and advancing strategic priorities for continuous improvement in learning, discovery, creativity, research, and community engagement.

Reporting to the chancellor, the EVCAA serves as the chief academic officer and provides essential leadership among campus colleagues, faculty, and support staff. The role includes management and oversight of all academic programs and courses on and off campus, with responsibility for faculty matters, program review, accreditation, and regular assessment of academic achievement, retention, persistence, and institutional effectiveness to support program improvement. The EVCAA will also recommend allocation of resources to academic and support units and provide supervisory oversight of related budgets; oversee learning resources such as libraries, teaching and learning centers, and online education; develop initiatives to improve teaching and learning; and promote faculty research, scholarship, and creative work, as well as the cultural and intellectual growth of the academic community.

The position requires an earned doctorate or other appropriate terminal degree, with credentials meriting appointment at the rank of full Professor in a discipline offered at the campus. Candidates should have a distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and service in higher education, and at least three years of successful leadership experience in academic administration at the academic dean level or higher, including budgetary, personnel, accreditation, and academic planning responsibilities. The EVCAA is expected to demonstrate commitment to the mission and values of public higher education and to regional comprehensive institutions, along with strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative leadership skills.
