The client is seeking an Executive Director to provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight that advances the mission of increasing opportunities for the Black community across professional baseball and beyond. The role is expected to be dynamic, collaborative, and mission-driven, with a demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and social impact. The Executive Director will serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador, representing the organization’s mission and achievements to external stakeholders, partners, and the broader community.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors by providing timely updates and strategic recommendations, facilitating effective board engagement, and maintaining alignment with long-term priorities. The Executive Director will build and extend strong partnerships across professional baseball, including collaboration with major and minor league stakeholders, and will support coordination, visibility, and mutual accountability. The role also involves leveraging existing trust and relationships to sustain the organization’s nationwide impact and providing transparent, data-driven reporting on program outcomes and financial performance.
The Executive Director will oversee operational execution in support of a portfolio of programs and campaigns designed to address systemic barriers to equity and inclusion through pathways to opportunities on and off the field. This includes driving work across program delivery and outreach initiatives, with an emphasis on mobilizing athletes, teams, and communities toward meaningful, systemic change. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in organizational management, partnership development, and fundraising, and will be expected to lead with clear vision and strong operational management to support continued growth and long-term sustainability.
