As a foundational hire, the executive director will establish the organization’s foundational structure, organize and develop practical short-term and aspirational long-term goals, and help build an effective board of directors. The role includes analyzing and addressing organizational gaps to transition into a fully operational and effective entity, creating a strategic plan, and developing metrics to evaluate success and impact. The executive director will ensure that initiatives remain aligned with the organization’s mission and objectives.
the executive director will also establish and oversee a research agenda focused on advancing solutions related to climate resilience and adaptation’s impact on home affordability, ensuring work is data-informed and expert-informed. This leader will work with research partners, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and other collaborators to advocate for changes that support the organization’s mission, and will help raise awareness through conferences and other forums. the executive director is expected to stay current on emerging trends and research to keep the organization’s strategy targeted and effective.
