the client is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the strategic, operational, and community leader of a community-based nonprofit. The organization provides family services and free programs, including youth and after-school programming, academic support, safe supervised recreation, tutoring and study skills support, secondary school completion education, and sports, physical fitness, and summer camp activities. It also operates employment and pre-employment support services, housing and rental/utility assistance, GED and ESL programming, computer and financial literacy case management, and offers a food pantry and a thrift store.
The Executive Director will advance the client’s mission through collaborative community engagement, strong organizational leadership, sustainable fund development, operational excellence, and a healthy, people-centered organizational culture. Working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, community partners, funders, and other stakeholders, the Executive Director is expected to uphold emotional intelligence, cultural humility, transparency, accountability, and a sustained commitment to serving historically underserved communities. The role prioritizes strengthening organizational infrastructure, supporting staff development and retention, driving strategic planning, fostering youth and family engagement, ensuring financial sustainability, applying trauma-informed leadership practices, and maintaining operational consistency while preserving the organization’s reputation and community trust.
Key responsibilities include leading the collaborative development of a multi-year strategic plan with Board members, staff, and key stakeholders, and translating that strategy into effective operational execution. The Executive Director will provide leadership across program and service delivery, coordinate stakeholder relationships to support mission impact, and help position the organization for long-term stability through thoughtful planning and fund development. The role is expected to support a transparent, accountable culture and ensure the organization continues to function as a trusted, responsive, and innovative community partner.
