The client is seeking an Executive Director to lead its next phase of growth following a transition from founder-led leadership to a professional executive model. This role provides strategic, financial, relational, and cultural leadership while maintaining credibility as a nonpartisan convener. The Executive Director will guide the organization’s evolution, support clear, long-term financial stability, and engage thoughtfully on important county issues while remaining above the political fray.
The Executive Director will partner with the Board of Directors and relevant stakeholders—including Board committees, founding leadership, staff, alumni, sponsors, and community partners—to implement and refine the strategic plan. Key responsibilities include building systems and structures that enable growth while preserving relationships, quality, culture, and mission, with an equity-centered, community-responsive lens. The role is also expected to serve as a trusted, highly relational leader who can convene across sectors and move at a pace suited to a maturing organization.
The Executive Director will lead a diversified, long-term revenue strategy across foundations, corporate sponsors, government partners, individual and alumni giving, and earned revenue. They will steward major funders and donors, activate Board members as fundraising partners, and oversee programs and community impact initiatives to ensure quality, relevance, and financial sustainability. Additionally, the Executive Director will lead and develop the staff team, serve as the primary staff partner to the Board by preparing materials to support effective governance, and represent The client externally while preserving the sense of belonging and connection that defines the participant and alumni experience.
