The client is seeking an Executive Director to lead a mission-driven nonprofit organization providing health and social services to historically underserved communities during a period of continued growth and evolution. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will serve as the organization’s chief executive, strategic leader, and principal ambassador, providing organization-wide leadership across healthcare, behavioral health, social services, prevention, administration, and community-facing functions. This role will focus on strengthening sustainability and impact while shaping the organization’s future and expanding its ability to improve the lives of the communities it serves.
The Executive Director will partner closely with the Board and senior leadership team to advance the organization’s mission and strategic priorities, translate strategy into clear goals and measurable outcomes, and pursue sustainable organizational growth. Key responsibilities include identifying opportunities to expand access, strengthen services, diversify revenue, and increase community impact, while anticipating emerging challenges and opportunities in the communities served and the organization’s operating environment. The role requires balancing respect for the organization’s history and existing strengths with thoughtful innovation and evolution.
The Executive Director will lead and develop a mission-driven team by fostering a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration, and inclusion, and strengthening cross-department communication so staff understand priorities and their role in delivering results. The Executive Director will coach and support direct reports, build leadership capacity, and promote an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to deliver high-quality services. In addition, the Executive Director will provide strategic oversight of key clinical and operational programs to ensure they are accessible, responsive, and aligned with organizational strategy, and will serve as a strong financial steward by partnering with finance leadership and the Board on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash management to support organizational sustainability.
