The client is seeking an Executive Director to serve as co-leader alongside the Founder/Program Director to build the operational and financial infrastructure of an innovative startup nonprofit delivering occupational therapy services to people experiencing and transitioning out of homelessness. The role will help advance the organization’s mission by supporting strategy, sustainability, and impact scaling, with leadership efforts focused on strengthening organizational systems while the clinical co-lead develops training, mentorship/supervision models, service implementation, quality improvement, and outcomes reporting.
Key responsibilities include organizational development (about 40%), such as collaborating on organizational priorities, programs, and procedures; creating and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy spanning grants and other revenue sources; building and managing a diverse funding portfolio; partnering with the clinical leader to cultivate relationships with institutional, government, and individual funders; overseeing grant writing, reporting, and donor stewardship systems; and working with the Board to fulfill fundraising responsibilities, including preparing materials that communicate impact and support donor engagement.
Additional responsibilities include strategic leadership and board relations (about 30%), including co-creating and executing a multi-year strategic plan aligned with mission and sustainability goals; monitoring progress and adjusting initiatives based on metrics and emerging trends; identifying growth and partnership opportunities; supporting board recruitment, onboarding, and development; preparing materials and facilitating board/committee meetings; and aligning operational capacity with the organization’s vision. Operations and financial management (about 20%) will include oversight of day-to-day operations and managing financial responsibilities to support the organization’s long-term sustainability and growth.
