The Executive Director position with our client involves leading and managing a global nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting patients with histiocytic disorders. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will oversee day-to-day operations, manage staff, and ensure financial stewardship. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and community engagement, as well as a passion for addressing the unique challenges faced by the HA community. This remote position requires approximately 40% travel annually, including regular meetings at the organization's office in Pitman, New Jersey.
Responsibilities of the Executive Director include developing a deep understanding of the organization's values, partnerships, and business model to drive strategic initiatives aligned with the mission of increasing awareness, providing support, and funding research. Fundraising efforts will involve grant procurement, donor cultivation, and financial oversight to ensure organizational sustainability. The Executive Director will also serve as the primary spokesperson for the HA, engaging in advocacy, awareness campaigns, and collaboration with medical professionals and partner organizations to support the rare cancer and rare disease community.
In addition to strategic leadership and fundraising, the Executive Director will focus on community and stakeholder engagement by representing the organization at events, media appearances, and meetings with key partners. Collaboration with medical professionals and advocacy organizations will be essential in designing impactful awareness campaigns and driving policy reform in the rare disease space. The successful candidate will bring compassion, understanding, and a commitment to advancing research and support for patients and families affected by histiocytic disorders.
