The client is seeking an Executive Director to lead a community-driven public library system serving residents through multiple library locations. The role will champion equitable, open access to books, services, and resources that inspire learning, curiosity, creativity, and connection, with an emphasis on equity, inclusion, and access. The client’s culture encourages experimentation, responsiveness to community interests, and continual reimagining of how library services can best serve the community.
Reporting to and partnering with the library board, the Executive Director will serve as chief strategist and primary spokesperson, advancing the client’s mission, vision, and long-term priorities. The role provides overall leadership across administration, operations, budgeting, policy development, and staff supervision, balancing strategic direction with day-to-day operational excellence. The Executive Director will work to expand community engagement, advance innovative programming, and ensure the library system continues to evolve in step with community needs.
In addition to leading with integrity and service excellence, the Executive Director is expected to cultivate a collaborative, innovative culture while ensuring strong financial stewardship. The position will support and strengthen partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, and civic organizations to foster connection and opportunity throughout the region. The ideal candidate will be able to translate a strategic vision into effective leadership across a modern, multi-location library environment.
