The client is seeking an Executive Director to provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management in alignment with the mission, policies, and strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. This role advances the organization’s lifesaving animal welfare mission while ensuring operational excellence across multiple departments, including development, veterinary services, volunteer services, community programs, and related operations. The Executive Director serves as the primary liaison between the Board and staff, implements board policies, manages organizational resources, leads the senior leadership team, and ensures effective delivery of programs and services.
The Executive Director will provide visionary leadership to set priorities in partnership with the Board, align strategy with programs and operations, and drive strong organizational performance. Responsibilities include monitoring organizational performance and community impact, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and mission-driven work, and supporting continuous improvement across departments. The role also requires proactive Board relations and governance support, including serving as the primary staff liaison and providing timely information to support Board decision-making.
As a key ambassador for The client, the Executive Director will strengthen community relationships, advance fundraising efforts, and build partnerships within the animal welfare field. The organization operates sheltering and adoption services, humane education, veterinary services, and broader community programs that support cats and dogs through services such as behavior support, a pet resource function, low-cost veterinary care, and thrift operations. The next leader is expected to help shape the organization’s future and continue growing a compassionate, community-driven approach to improving lives and strengthening the bond between pets and families.
