Description

the client seeks a collaborative, aspirational, and entrepreneurial advancement professional to serve as Executive Director for the Southeast region. In this role, the Executive Director will lead and direct the region’s fundraising efforts, oversee the Southeast fundraising team, and partner with a dedicated board of lay leaders and national colleagues to advance philanthropic success. Building on recent campaign momentum and university leadership developments, the role will contribute to ambitious long-term philanthropic goals, including support for the university’s next comprehensive fundraising initiative.

the Executive Director will report to the chief development officer and is responsible for the fundraising strategy, leadership, and development of the client’s Southeast region. The role will elevate fundraising impact across Florida and the Southeast by expanding the donor pipeline, increasing engagement, and strengthening relationships with current volunteers and donors. The Executive Director will lead and empower a fundraising team of two, including hiring a fundraising coordinator and supporting plans to add additional staff, while driving regional fundraising targets as part of the broader annual fundraising goal.

the ideal candidate is a creative, resourceful, and adaptable fundraiser who can lead autonomously while collaborating closely with national leadership and peers. The position requires at least ten years of successful fundraising experience, preferably in a Jewish communal, higher education, or nonprofit environment. The Executive Director must demonstrate success in the solicitation and stewardship of major gifts, including leading donor discovery and cultivation and using data and systems to inform strategy, along with strong credibility and sophistication to engage senior leaders and high-level volunteers. A deep alignment with and ability to articulate and reflect the organization’s mission and values are essential, and knowledge of Israel and its current context is expected to support representation of an international university; a bachelor’s degree is required.
