The client is seeking an exceptional Executive Director Medical Services & Clinical Governance (EDMSCG) to lead and enhance its healthcare services following internal changes. This role involves being a central figure within the executive leadership team, overseeing strategic and operational facets of the health district, which covers a significant geographic area. The EDMSCG will not only build upon existing accomplishments but also aim to further develop the world-class health care provided to the community. The position reports to the Chief Executive and requires active engagement with the Executive and the Board on medical workforce issues.
Key responsibilities include providing professional leadership across the medical workforce and all clinical governance aspects. The EDMSCG will support service leaders in managing clinical services efficiently while ensuring high-quality care through clinical excellence and patient safety best practices. Collaborating with the Executive Director Nursing, Midwifery & Clinical Governance and the Executive Director Allied Health, the EDMSCG will spearhead the creation and implementation of clinical governance and patient safety strategies. Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders such as academic partners, community groups, and the broader clinical community is crucial in fostering a collaborative environment.
Ideal candidates are experienced medical leaders who have previously held leadership roles in similar health service settings and have successfully led transformation initiatives. Holding a RACMA Fellowship or an equivalent qualification is valued, and a strong track record in leading medical workforce and clinical governance is essential.
