Description

The client seeks an Executive Director to serve as the organization’s Chief Administrative Officer and provide strategic, operational, and organizational leadership. The role advances the organization’s mission to protect the public interest by overseeing the examination and certification process for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) candidates, coordinating activities with relevant education and testing partners and applicable licensing authorities as required. The Executive Director reports to the full Board, with the Board Chair acting as the primary liaison between Board meetings.

The Executive Director leads key functions including academic evaluation for candidate eligibility under applicable requirements, examination administration such as approving qualified candidates and coordinating exam-related matters with national testing partners, and certification by issuing completion certificates for eligible candidates who meet educational and examination requirements. The Executive Director also supports regulatory integrity by assisting in the development and administration of policies, rules, and procedures that uphold the certification process and protect the public interest.

Core responsibilities include overseeing organizational activities and procedures; leading the preparation and execution of strategic planning in partnership with the Board and key stakeholders to set long-term priorities, measurable objectives, and resource alignment; monitoring progress toward strategic goals and recommending adjustments as needed. The role also provides analysis and recommendations on public accounting issues related to examination and certification, supports policy and rule changes, implements Board-approved qualification requirements in accordance with applicable law and administrative rules, and provides leadership and support for rulemaking and the interpretation and application of relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
