Description

the client seeks a collaborative, visionary, interdisciplinary arts leader to serve as Executive Director. Founded in 2017 as an interdisciplinary catalyst for artistic education, exhibition, research, and practice, the client’s mission is to encourage creative thinking and original expression, enrich curricular innovation, and promote cross-campus and community collaboration through transformative encounters with the arts. The Executive Director will oversee a public-facing institution that connects the client with the broader community through the creative intersection of art and ideas, including galleries and public programming such as exhibitions, performances, conversations, classes, and hands-on workshops.

Reporting to the Provost, the Executive Director will lead a team of 12 and is responsible for all activities of the client, representing the client to external constituencies including advisory and stakeholder groups, alumni and friends of the arts, public audiences, and the museum and arts professions. Key priorities include developing a bold strategic plan for the next chapter of the client, amplifying interdisciplinary collaboration across campus, strengthening and diversifying the financial base, raising visibility as a leading arts venue, leading and empowering staff, and advancing the public art initiative. The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership to ensure the institution’s mission is clearly understood and objectives are effectively pursued in alignment with broader institutional goals.

The role will support philanthropic development by cultivating donors and patrons to secure ongoing philanthropic support. The Executive Director will work across constituencies such as deans, faculty, students, administration, donors, and community members to chart the client’s direction. The client is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to diversity at all levels, considering qualified applicants without regard to protected characteristics.
