The client’s Executive Director/General Manager serves as the chief executive responsible for operations, sustainability, and strategic growth. This enterprise-wide leadership role oversees both broadcast and non-broadcast media operations and guides transformation efforts, including expanding digital content, strengthening revenue, and ensuring long-term operational, financial, and regulatory sustainability. Key areas include setting and executing a forward-looking strategic vision; leading organizational transformation with a focus on audience growth and innovation; identifying opportunities for growth and impact; and translating strategy into actionable initiatives that align operations, content, and financial performance.
The Executive Director/General Manager provides financial and operational leadership, including oversight of an operating budget and direction of long-range planning across media infrastructure. The role also partners with development leadership to build and scale fundraising and revenue strategies, including major gift cultivation and donor relationship management, with an emphasis on diversifying revenue streams across membership, underwriting, philanthropy, and digital initiatives. In addition, the Executive Director/General Manager leads content and media quality across platforms, ensuring journalistic integrity and public media standards while expanding audience reach through compelling storytelling and engagement; the ideal candidate is an experienced, mission-driven executive with senior management experience, strong strategic and operational execution, and fundraising leadership in media or similarly complex nonprofit environments, with a bachelor’s degree required and a master’s degree preferred.
