The client is seeking an Executive Director to lead a mission-driven organization serving artists, arts organizations, and creative entrepreneurs through access to pro bono legal services, education, and professional support. The role will maintain and expand the organization’s impact in response to crises and major changes in the business and legal environment affecting the arts, while building on a strong foundation of service and reputation.
A core priority will be strengthening and expanding access to legal assistance by building and maintaining relationships with pro bono attorneys, law firms, corporate legal partners, and bar associations. The Executive Director will ensure the delivery of responsive, equitable, and high-impact legal support, and will serve as an ambassador for the organization by elevating awareness of the legal challenges facing the arts and business sectors.
The Executive Director will oversee organizational operations and provide strategic leadership for mission execution, including working with staff attorneys, volunteer pro bono counsel, legal clinics, referrals, and community partnerships. Responsibilities will include supporting legal service delivery across areas such as contract review, intellectual property and copyright guidance, trademark support, business formation, employment matters, dispute resolution, and educational workshops, along with overseeing fundraising, key partnerships, and financial management.
