Description

The client is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to serve as the strategic, fundraising, and organizational leader and external face of its mentoring and scholarship nonprofit. The organization supports Boston students, with a focus on helping low-income and first-generation students who have left college return to campus, earn their degree, and pursue career pathways. As the organization expands quickly, the Executive Director will guide the organization through its next phase of growth alongside a small staff and an engaged Board, mentors, volunteers, and other supporters.

The Executive Director is responsible for setting and advancing the organization’s vision, translating strategy into clear priorities, goals, and measurable outcomes, and maintaining alignment across programs, operations, and external efforts. This role includes evaluating impact and adapting strategy based on data and external context, as well as leading opportunities for growth, partnerships, and innovation in service of the mission. The Executive Director also works closely with the Board of Directors to deliver on the mission and long-term impact goals.

Fundraising and external relations are central to the position, including developing and leading a comprehensive fundraising plan and securing revenue from individual, corporate, and foundation donors. The Executive Director will cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and key funding partners and serve as a primary ambassador and thought leader to raise visibility and awareness in the Greater Boston community. Additionally, the Executive Director will lead a small, mission-driven team of employees with clarity and accountability, establish performance expectations, and foster a healthy culture grounded in mission, transparency, and collaboration.
