The client is seeking an Executive Director to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, operationalize the organization, grow an annual retreat, build a demand-signal convening series, and guide ongoing innovation. This role combines strategic leadership with day-to-day responsibilities, as it will initially serve as the organization’s sole employee.
The Executive Director is expected to maintain a regular presence in Austin, Texas, with a preference for candidates located in Austin, Washington, D.C., or New York City. The organization convenes leaders across policy, science, technology, investment, journalism, and defense to support candor, trust, and action-oriented problem solving.
As Executive Director, the successful candidate will own the program, community, team, partnerships, and long-term strategy for the coming years. The role will leverage an existing network and will require the ability to build durable institutional capacity, while working closely with board leadership who can help open doors, convene stakeholders, and support resource development.
