the client is seeking a dynamic, strategic Executive Director (ED) to lead Reading Partners Tulsa. The role sets the vision and operating conditions for regional success and translates the organization’s national mission into local impact across the Tulsa metropolitan area, with a focus on literacy, equity, and community empowerment. the client’s model leverages community volunteers to deliver consistent one-on-one tutoring intended to strengthen students’ reading fundamentals and support lifelong learning.
the Executive Director will lead fundraising and serve as the primary external representative for the region, building and sustaining community partnerships with school program partners and other strategically aligned education and community-based organizations. The ED provides bottom-line fiscal leadership for the region, oversees growth and expansion efforts, and guides the development of program growth through Powered by Reading Partners (PbRP). This leader is expected to have strong relationships across the educational and nonprofit sectors, including public officials, community organizations, and philanthropic leaders committed to children’s educational success.
the ED will manage and support regional staff and AmeriCorps volunteers, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and equity-driven culture. Responsibilities include leading program implementation and community engagement, overseeing regional business operations, ensuring program operations are effective through executive-level oversight of budgeting, compliance, and efficacy, and aligning programmatic goals with regional and national strategic plans. The role is expected to support targets related to student enrollment and service, expand contracted fee-for-service arrangements with program partners, and build fundraising and regional infrastructure to enable future growth.
