the client seeks a dynamic, visionary Executive Director to lead its international operations with a particular focus on its flagship international initiative in Spain. This role is expected to be entrepreneurial and future-facing, with responsibility for stewarding educational quality, driving business development, and managing international growth while maintaining fidelity to the client’s innovative, team-based educational model. The position blends CEO-level leadership with strategic venture leadership to support expansion into new international contexts.
The Executive Director reports to the client’s Board of Trustees and is accountable for business development and performance across the international campuses. The Executive Director will ensure consistent implementation of the educational model across all international locations, collaborate closely with the Head of School on ongoing program innovation, and uphold the integrity of the organization’s brand and mission. The Executive Director is appointed to the Spain board and will provide oversight of senior leadership functions, including business development, administrative and operations, network admissions, and the international Campus Directors.
Ideal candidates have demonstrated success leading complex, multi-campus or international educational organizations, along with financial fluency that supports performance-based budgeting and investment strategy. The role typically calls for strong education-business judgment, an entrepreneurial mindset, and effective leadership that can translate strategy into execution while working across cultures. English fluency is required and Spanish fluency is strongly preferred; additional strengths include knowledge of HR, legal compliance, and corporate governance, confidence working with investors and boards, hands-on operational capability, and an ability to grow an initiative with a small team and a broad vision.
