The client is seeking an Engineering Director to direct, oversee, and apply functional authority across the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering design and commissioning activities. This role will lead engineering project delivery, ensure that design and commissioning efforts are completed efficiently and on time, and drive operational coordination to support successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing engineering projects; overseeing and delegating work across a team of project managers, engineers, commissioning agents, and technicians; reviewing and approving engineering designs, specifications, and commissioning standards for accuracy and compliance; and developing strong relationships with clients and vendors. The Engineering Director will also develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet client and company objectives, and may support new business development based on project success.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a 4-year accredited program, or an acceptable alternative such as Engineering Technology or Construction Management. Candidates are expected to have experience as a Project Manager for at least 5 years, or alternatively 15 years of industry project management experience, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. A Professional Engineering License is preferred, and the role requires strong presentation and communication skills, the ability to multitask across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, willingness to travel to job sites for approximately 30% of the work time, and physical ability to perform site visits including walking and climbing stairs.
