Senior divisional leadership role with P&L responsibility for a multi-site specialist manufacturing division with approximately £50m turnover and around 200 headcount. This role will lead strategy and execution to drive growth and operational efficiency, while overseeing manufacturing operations to ensure high-quality output and compliance with relevant industry standards.
The position is expected to deliver operational excellence for a market-leading product and simultaneously develop and grow a product range in a niche sector where the organization is less dominant. Responsibilities include monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities, fostering relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders to support business development, and collaborating with cross-divisional teams to ensure seamless delivery of projects and initiatives.
Key requirements include experience in chemicals, coatings, inks, or a comparable process-based industry, along with proven strategic planning and operational management capabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and growing a new product line, knowledge of batch and process manufacturing, and experience leading within a matrix structure. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills are required, along with interest in Industry 4.0 and the development or implementation of AI tools for manufacturing, supported by a results-driven, continuous-improvement mindset and an emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.
