Description

the client is seeking a Division General Manager for a new fine wine division within an international wine and spirits group. This role will lead a strong fine wine brand with a non-traditional, rebel positioning, while driving continued growth through innovation, partnerships, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and international expansion. The position is focused on refining the brand vision and strategy and establishing category-leading capabilities across brand building, general and brand management, and omnichannel commercial execution.

The Division General Manager will be accountable for the brand’s P&L end to end, developing and implementing annual and long-range brand strategy and marketing plans to increase consumer awareness, acquisition, retention, and net promoter scores. Responsibilities include collaborating cross-functionally with winemaking, innovation/growth, operations, corporate strategy, and corporate communications, as well as partnering with agencies and internal stakeholders across PR, DTC teams, field and trade marketing, hospitality, and sales. The role will also work with consumer insights, revenue management, and sales to inform strategy, optimize pricing and positioning, and align grape supply, procurement, wine style, packaging, placement, and promotion with the overall brand strategy.

Qualifications include strong brand-building capabilities and the ability to sell, with experience managing through influence in a matrix organization with direct and dotted-line teams. The client seeks an ambitious, high-potential corporate executive, potentially coming from premium brand leadership such as VP Sales or VP Marketing, with a strong personal interest in fine wine. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, beverage alcohol industry experience, and familiarity with the three-tier distribution system, along with proven experience developing and executing brand strategies (especially in luxury CPG), leading traditional and digital marketing campaigns, commercializing new products and line extensions, positioning across DTC, wholesale, and international channels, and collaborating effectively with external partners.
