the client is seeking Division General Managers for a new fine wine division, focused on the higher end side of the portfolio. The role sets strategy and holds accountability for brand building, creation of consumer demand, and future growth of a prestige fine wine portfolio, balancing the art and science of brand building with commercial excellence. responsibilities include defining short- and long-range growth aspirations, ensuring the highest and best use of grapes from prestigious vineyards through collaboration with winemaking, and driving consumer awareness, acquisition, retention, and loyalty through marketing and tailored communication across digital and traditional channels as well as catered hospitality experiences.
the position will work across functions to ensure product quality aligned to consumer targets, and will collaborate with DTC, international, and wholesale sales teams to execute brand strategy in market at point of purchase and through the appropriate channel strategy. it is also accountable for delivering short- and long-range EBIT growth targets for the brand family based on annual and long-range plans. the role will develop and implement the annual and long-range brand strategy and marketing plan, use consumer insights to identify core luxury consumers and target growth segments, and support consumer targeting and acquisition efforts in the prestige fine wine space.
the client is looking for a proven brand builder with the ability to sell and a deep understanding of winemaking, as well as prior experience managing a luxury brand to help build organizational capabilities. candidates should be able to lead by influence in a matrixed environment with both direct and dotted-line reporting. qualifications and experience expected include beverage alcohol industry experience, strong fine wine knowledge, strong commercial and/or brand-building acumen in luxury goods or hospitality, demonstrated experience developing and executing brand strategy in luxury consumer/product/hospitality contexts, and experience building personalized communication platforms for targeted consumer subsets; experience developing or executing personal concierge programs for high net worth consumers is preferred.
