The client seeks an accomplished physician-scientist to serve as Division Director and Endowed Chair of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. This national search will support leadership of a nationally prominent, historically impactful pediatric infectious diseases division, with responsibility for advancing a bold strategic vision aligned with The client’s Infection, Inflammation, Immunity, and Immunotherapy priorities. The Division Director will be expected to foster a collaborative, inclusive, high-performing academic culture and strengthen institutional and interdisciplinary partnerships.
The role will provide research excellence through an active, independently funded research program and efforts to expand NIH and other extramural funding across the division. The successful candidate will leverage expanding laboratory and research infrastructure to grow translational and discovery science, and will demonstrate a proven record of mentoring successful investigators. The Division Director will also recruit and retain high-impact physician-scientists and clinician-investigators, supporting faculty development and maintaining an inclusive, future-oriented faculty.
Clinical and educational leadership responsibilities include ensuring excellence in pediatric infectious diseases clinical care, strengthening fellowship and training programs, and advancing integration of research, education, and clinical missions. The ideal candidate will hold an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent, be board certified in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and be eligible for appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Professor. Required qualifications include a national or international reputation in pediatric infectious diseases, a sustained record of extramural funding and high-impact scholarship, demonstrated academic medical leadership, and proven mentorship and recruitment success; preferred qualifications include experience expanding laboratory-based programs and leading multicenter clinical trials or research networks, as well as leadership roles in national or international organizations.
