The client is seeking a Director to grow financial support and deepen community engagement for its mission of ensuring access to quality Jewish education. The Director will cultivate relationships and increase giving from existing supporters in the $1,800–$25,000 range and will also inspire new community members to become significant financial supporters. The role typically aligns with a background in sales, client relations, fundraising, or a similar field, with a demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding goals.
The Director will also help grow a grassroots movement focused on advocacy and voting. Supported by a community engagement team and the state and national office, the Director will be expected to work independently, initiate and maintain contacts and relationships, and pivot quickly to address rapidly changing situations. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, an analytical problem-solving approach, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include creating and executing a plan to increase revenue through donor solicitations, cultivation, and stewardship; maintaining accurate donor relationship records in a CRM, including logging communications and meetings; and building and sustaining relationships that motivate increased investment. The Director will identify, cultivate, and solicit new donors; meet quarterly and annual fundraising goals; recruit and develop lay leadership for leadership roles; provide updates that encourage involvement in policy and advocacy work; engage community members through action alerts, voting, and events; and represent the client at community events and forums. Ties to the Queens and Long Island Jewish communities and schools and a strong commitment to Jewish education and advocacy are expected; a bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
