A client is seeking a transformational leader to serve as Director of a new Center for Neuroscience Discovery and Innovation. The center will provide an overarching administrative structure that brings together interdisciplinary neuroscience research across clinical, preclinical, basic science, community, and population health efforts. The Director will promote world-class research, education, and community engagement, partnering with neuroscience education programs across undergraduate, graduate, medical, and post-graduate levels and connecting with communities through outreach and educational activities.
The Director will lead efforts to integrate research-intensive faculty and current and developing programs within the center, while identifying synergies across related fields to enable meaningful collaboration. The role is expected to develop specific goals and milestones; build robust mentorship and career-development structures for investigators; and provide resources and guidance to support faculty success. While maintaining an active research program, the Director will prioritize the success of others and the center as a whole, inspiring and building trust across the neuroscience community and engaging creatively with potential benefactors.
Qualifications include an MD and/or PhD and a nationally recognized translational research portfolio in a neuroscience field. The ideal candidate will have exemplary scientific productivity and a strong track record of extramural funding, along with evidence of innovative, collaborative, nationally recognized leadership and mentoring.
