The client is seeking a dynamic, forward-looking Director for a School of Earth and Space Exploration, with a concurrent appointment as a tenured Professor. The role will lead a distinguished unit on its flagship Tempe campus and will oversee a mission centered on exploration, discovery, and interdisciplinary collaboration spanning astrobiology, astrophysics, cosmology, geosciences, and planetary sciences, as well as aligned discipline-based education research and technology development.
The Director will provide respected academic and administrative leadership, advancing access and excellence in both education and research. Expected strengths include inclusive relationship building, the ability to engage faculty across a range of disciplines, and sustaining a culture of collaboration and interdisciplinary engagement within and beyond the school. The Director is envisioned as a systems thinker who will strategically identify and foster opportunities for growth, innovation, and partnership to guide the school’s future direction.
The Director will report to the dean of natural sciences within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
