the client is recruiting for a Director Regulatory Policy/Insight for a global advisory business in London. The role will focus on regulatory policy across both conduct and prudential areas, with particular emphasis on prudential policy and insurance, while remaining open to other financial services sectors.
Key responsibilities include developing long-term views on the strategic direction of regulation, monitoring and responding to regulatory change (including topics such as duty of care and insurance pricing), and assessing how innovative business models fit within the regulatory framework. The director will also support regulatory model development overseas, contribute to senior manager appointments, develop approaches to authorisation, and provide timely communications to clients regarding regulatory updates. The role will additionally support internal regulatory reviews as a centre of excellence, and will involve building advisory capabilities to strengthen the team’s regulatory insight.
The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience of financial regulation and senior-level experience, ideally in a regulatory capacity, or in regulatory affairs or regulatory consulting within an advisory environment. Strong client communication and commercial awareness are required, along with the ability to develop new business opportunities for the regulatory team and to manage projects effectively. The role is client-facing and consulting-based, requiring relationship-building and the ability to supervise, coach, and mentor people; travel and working across borders are expected.
