As a faculty member in the College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering, the Director will be expected to engage in teaching, research, and service activities. They will need to establish a robust research program, mentor graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, and secure external funding to support their research endeavors and the development of the IBL. Reporting to the Dean of the College, the Director will work closely with the Vice President for Research and oversee a team of staff scientists, a laboratory associate, and a lab technician.
