The client is seeking an accomplished researcher and leader to serve as Director of the Diabetes Center. The role provides an opportunity to guide a well-resourced, nationally visible center focused on advancing discoveries, improving access to high-quality diabetes care, and accelerating progress toward prevention, treatment, and ultimately a cure. The Director will also hold the University title of Vice Provost for Diabetes Programs, supporting integration of diabetes science and care across the academic health campus.
In this position, the Director will lead the development and execution of a unified vision for diabetes research and clinical innovation. Responsibilities include fostering collaboration across adult and pediatric programs, advancing research growth and interdisciplinary partnerships, and serving as a public ambassador for the center’s mission. The Diabetes Center benefits from substantial internal resources and state-of-the-art laboratories, and its impact is supported through notable academic recognition and ongoing statewide collaborations.
The client expects candidates to have an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD and to qualify for appointment at the associate or full professor level. The successful candidate will demonstrate a nationally recognized record of scientific achievement, sustained external funding, and leadership in collaborative research. The Director will report to university leadership and will be responsible for aligning research and clinical efforts to strengthen the center’s long-term contributions to diabetes programs.
