The Department of Social Work is experiencing growth and currently has 13 faculty members, nine clinical faculty members, and 25 lecturers. They offer BSW, MSW (traditional and online), and PhD degrees, with their MSW program ranked in the top 25% nationwide. Specialized curricula in areas such as trauma-informed care and applied gerontology are offered alongside generalist instruction. The department is expanding its programs to include a fully online BSW option and a DSW program in addition to its established PhD program.In addition to its educational offerings, the Department of Social Work has a strong community engagement focus. Faculty-led applied research has led to collaborations with community and state agencies, aligning with the department's mission to promote the health and welfare of diverse, underserved, and marginalized populations through research, education, training, and practice. The department's commitment to serving these populations is evident in its programs and partnerships with external organizations.
