Description

the client is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and technologically savvy leader to serve as Director of Student Accessibility Services. This highly visible role advances accessibility, equity, and inclusion across the university community, partnering with stakeholders to ensure an accessible and inclusive student experience.

Student Accessibility Services provides disability services for all students in undergraduate and graduate programs. Co-located with student support services, the department collaborates closely on accessibility matters and works with students to identify and implement accommodations that enable full participation in academic and campus life. The Director is expected to help ensure all aspects of the student experience are accessible, equitable, and inclusive.

The ideal candidate will typically hold a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, disability services, higher education, educational psychology, or a related discipline, and will be well-versed in accessibility-related federal and state requirements, including Section 504 and the ADA, as well as other applicable fair housing and student accessibility obligations. Candidates should have at least five years of experience supporting postsecondary students with disabilities and at least seven years of demonstrated supervisory and management experience in a high-volume, highly engaged department, along with strong administrative data collection, reporting, and policy interpretation skills, clear translation of regulations into actionable protocols, exceptional communication and discretion, a strong commitment to multicultural and social justice-informed environments, and experience overseeing operational services and fiscal management.
