Description

The client seeks a Director of Strategic Hiring to lead the enterprise strategic hiring function and help ensure the organization has the talent needed to support current and future business objectives. This onsite role in San Antonio, TX will partner with business leaders to identify future talent needs, assess workforce risks, and translate workforce forecasts, growth plans, and business priorities into actionable talent strategies. The Director will lead a team focused on strategic hiring, workforce planning, talent pipeline development, labor market intelligence, and strategic sourcing for managerial, director-level, and other mission-critical positions.

Key responsibilities include leading and developing the strategic hiring function and the team responsible for proactive hiring strategies and sustainable talent pipelines. The role will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to define current and future workforce requirements, develop pipelines for critical and difficult-to-fill positions, and identify emerging talent gaps that could impact business objectives. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and executive leadership regarding talent availability, labor market conditions, workforce trends, and hiring challenges, while aligning external hiring strategies with broader workforce planning and succession planning objectives.

The position will establish and oversee strategic sourcing initiatives, drive continuous improvement in hiring processes and candidate experience, and monitor workforce and hiring metrics such as talent pipeline health, fill rates, time-to-fill, quality of hire, workforce forecasts, and labor market intelligence. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience leading teams and programs related to strategic initiatives, workforce planning, and/or talent acquisition. Experience in industrial construction, engineering, manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, power generation, EPC, or similar project-based industries is expected, along with demonstrated executive stakeholder partnership and strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-management skills; preferred qualifications may include experience in strategic recruiting and workforce forecasting models and relevant certifications or a master’s degree.
