Description

The client is seeking a Director of Strategic Hiring to lead the enterprise strategic hiring function and help ensure the organization has the talent needed to support current and future business objectives. Based in Houston, TX, this onsite role will partner with business leaders to identify future talent needs, assess workforce risks, and develop proactive hiring strategies. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by translating workforce forecasts, business priorities, and growth plans into actionable talent strategies.

Responsibilities include leading and developing the strategic hiring function and a team focused on strategic hiring initiatives and talent pipeline development. The role will collaborate with Engineering, Project Leadership, Services, Project Controls, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to align hiring with current and future workforce needs. The Director will develop and maintain pipelines for critical and difficult-to-fill positions, establish strategic sourcing initiatives to attract highly skilled talent, and drive continuous improvement in hiring processes, candidate experience, and recruiting effectiveness. The Director will also monitor and report hiring and workforce metrics such as talent pipeline health, fill rates, time-to-fill, quality of hire, workforce forecasts, and labor market intelligence, and provide data-driven recommendations to executive leadership.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 10+ years of experience leading teams, programs, projects, strategic business initiatives, workforce planning initiatives, talent acquisition functions, or related business operations. The role is expected to have experience in industrial construction, engineering, manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, power generation, EPC, or similar project-based industries, along with demonstrated ability to influence and partner with executive and senior stakeholders. Additional expectations include experience using metrics, forecasts, and market intelligence for decision-making; leading workforce-related and talent acquisition initiatives; and managing complex initiatives through planning and execution with cross-functional stakeholders. Preferred qualifications include experience in strategic recruiting and workforce planning, supporting large-scale project-based organizations, developing workforce forecasting models and strategic hiring plans, and using labor market intelligence and talent analytics; relevant certifications and a master’s degree may be beneficial.
