the client’s work centers on advancing policy solutions that help create a high-quality, diverse educator workforce and support public schools through strong career pathways, coherent instructional support systems, and equitable public funding. an equitable and sustainable public education system is expected to be achieved by aligning educator leadership with issue advocacy campaigns that can influence policy, contracts, and broader public conversations.

the Director of Strategic Engagement will lead the design and execution of issue-based advocacy campaigns in connecticut, operating at the intersection of campaign strategy, coalition leadership, and stakeholder engagement to ensure meaningful policy impact. this senior, external-facing role represents the client in coalition spaces and public forums, builds strategic partnerships, facilitates high-impact engagements, and shapes campaign strategy through judgment, discretion, and ownership; responsibilities include translating vision into campaign plans, driving decision-making and project management, aligning work with internal program strategy, and grounding efforts in education policy insight and analysis. the role also leads coalition management and partnership strategy, identifies and cultivates key external relationships, and designs and facilitates trainings for educators, organizers, and coalition partners to build shared alignment and capacity.
