Description

the client is seeking a Director of Sales to lead the direct sales strategy for its property. Reporting into the Director of Sales and Marketing, this role serves as the strategic business leader for the sales department, overseeing the development and implementation of departmental strategies while supporting brand service strategy and brand initiatives. The Director of Sales will ensure direct sales align with the brand’s target customer needs, support employee satisfaction, and focus on growing revenue and maximizing the department’s financial performance.

Key responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of direct sales and overall departmental strategy, leading the group sales effort for strategic accounts, and managing the direct sales budget. The role also involves driving the sale of catering events and managing leisure and business transient accounts, with an emphasis on financial planning and operational execution. The position is expected to use strong communication and people leadership to guide team efforts and ensure consistent delivery of sales and service outcomes.

Qualifications include a college degree or equivalent industry experience and experience in a senior sales or marketing role, typically within hospitality and preferably in the luxury hotel segment, with experience selling business that includes more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space. The role requires knowledge of group meetings, catering events, business transient, and conference markets, strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and the ability to lead under stress while balancing multiple commitments. Additional expectations include customer service aptitude, understanding of budgetary and fiscal responsibility, and familiarity with operational areas of the resort.
