Description

the client is seeking an outgoing, determined, customer-focused leader for the Director of Sales role. This position leads, motivates, and supports the sales team while maintaining strong inter-departmental communication. The Director of Sales contributes to the overall direction of the resort and manages sales expenses with a focus on exceeding budgeted revenues and established RevPAR goals.

Responsibilities include developing and managing business plans for the assigned segment, and partnering with the Marketing team to create collateral and digital support materials while leveraging advertising and public relations opportunities. The role emphasizes achieving group room revenue and ADR targets, maintaining accounts to meet business objectives, and staying abreast of industry trends to provide leadership and education for the leisure segment. The Director of Sales will work closely with other sales leaders to communicate emerging trends and develop revenue-increasing strategies, and will manage customer decision-making and the relationship process using internal and external resources.

Key expectations include defining and improving the customer value proposition by assessing competitive factors relevant to the segment, and collaborating across all levels of the organization to resolve complex issues with clear, concise communication. Qualifications include a college degree or equivalent experience, with prior Director of Sales and/or Sales & Marketing experience in an upscale luxury hotel or resort preferred. The role is expected to require 8–10 years of senior sales and/or marketing leadership experience managing more than 10 employees, along with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to conduct group presentations, strong business and account planning and budget management capabilities, demonstrated creativity and results orientation, and strong financial/statistical analysis skills. Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is expected.
