The client is a Nova Scotia–based cleantech company focused on developing sustainable, plant-based architectural paint and reducing microplastic pollution. The Director of Sales will lead the company’s multi-channel revenue strategy, helping convert market demand into sustained commercial growth across retail, trade, e-commerce, affiliates, and government procurement. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for owning revenue execution end-to-end, from vendor onboarding through regional trade outreach.
Key responsibilities include leading retail channel sales by managing vendor application, onboarding, and compliance, growing relationships with regional and independent retail partners, and serving as the primary commercial point of contact for retail buyers and merchandising teams. The role will also oversee forecasting, sell-through analysis, replenishment planning, and channel performance tracking. In trade, the director will build and lead direct outreach to architects, interior designers, decorators, and other specifiers, develop territory and relationship-nurturing frameworks, mentor junior outreach staff, track specification wins, and ensure alignment across retail, direct, and project-based execution.
The director will manage e-commerce and affiliate sales by onboarding relevant retailers and ensuring consistency in brand, pricing, and messaging, while also building and optimizing affiliate and referral programs with partner recruitment, tracking, and performance measurement. The role will identify and manage government procurement and tender opportunities, oversee RFP responses and compliance documentation, and coordinate internal execution for delivery, compliance, and post-award account management. Sales leadership and operations duties include leading and performance-managing the sales and customer relations team, enforcing CRM discipline and pipeline visibility, establishing sales targets and KPIs, and collaborating with Operations, Marketing, and Finance; the role is expected to deliver regular performance reporting and strategic insights to the CEO and leadership team.
