the client is seeking a high-energy hotel sales leader to serve as the Director of Sales, Catering, & Marketing. This role will lead the hotel’s sales and marketing efforts and partner with the General Manager to drive business development and secure bookings that support a successful, profitable operation. The director will provide guidance and consultation on sales and marketing activities to help generate total forecasted annual revenues, using knowledge of staff, competition, and market conditions.
Key responsibilities include supporting the development of the annual budget and revenue strategy, including the balance between transient/group sales and ADR growth; reforecasting revenues and sales expenses on a monthly basis; and overseeing the contract account through relationship-building, completing transient RFPs, and participating in rate structure. The director will actively participate in weekly revenue management meetings, analyze STR performance with a focus on improving RevPAR year over year, monitor transient production and approve annual rate increases, and use market-performance tools to inform strategies. The role will also support booking strategy, rate strategy, free-sell policy, booking pace monitoring, group liability reduction with annual contract review, and review/approval of business and concessions while monitoring cut-off dates and collecting attrition or cancellation fees as needed.
The director will work with the sales team to develop business plans for each market segment and ensure sales strategies are aligned against the competitive set, following up to confirm managers execute action plans and adjust them as conditions change. The position also includes assisting with the expense budget for initiatives such as trade shows, client events, and third-party marketing efforts, leading the Sales and Catering management team, and creating a high-energy, sales-focused environment. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in marketing, hotel management, or general business, along with at least eight years in hotel sales with at least three years that also include marketing; additional language ability is preferred. The director will participate in total hotel leadership and support smooth operations while maintaining strong positive relationships across the market.
