the client is seeking an inaugural Director to lead the Center for Research and Health Innovation, providing strategic and clinical leadership to advance research excellence, translational science, and innovative care models across the enterprise. The Director will shape a collaborative research community that advances science, education, and community engagement, supporting interdisciplinary work spanning preclinical, clinical, community, and population health domains and fostering collaboration across multiple institutional entities.
The inaugural Director will bring together existing research capabilities across the enterprise, helping assemble and integrate resources to advance patient-oriented research and provide a unified support network for investigators and study participants. The role includes planning and developing the Institute, driving and expanding research activity across multiple campuses, elevating academic excellence, launching extramural funding initiatives, accelerating clinical trial activity, and generating technology innovation to improve health outcomes.
The ideal candidate is an established clinician-scientist with deep expertise in research and a strong record of extramural funding, along with knowledge of regulatory requirements and demonstrated experience leading high-performing, multidisciplinary research teams. Qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine degree, relevant board certification, eligibility for academic appointment as an associate or full professor, ability to obtain a state physician license, and a minimum of 10 years of progressive clinical research experience with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity, plus a distinguished scholarly record and active engagement with academic and professional societies at the national level.
